In today’s lesson, we emphasized the importance of using PSED lessons tailored specifically for students’ year groups, as younger students may not be prepared for certain topics. We explored adoption, defining it as the legal process of transferring a child’s rights and responsibilities from their natural parents to adoptive parents, ensuring both have equal rights as in biological families. Adoption can occur both formally and informally and often involves fostering, which is when children are cared for by adults who are not their biological parents. We also acknowledged that some families face various challenges that might prevent them from raising children, making adoption a valuable option.
