In today’s lesson, we discussed three important Maltese figures: Dun Karl Psaiba, the national poet, Dun Mikiel Zarb, a patriotic figure, and Saint George Preca, the founder of the Doctrine of Unity. We reflected on their lasting impact on our country and considered ways to remember their contributions today. Examples were provided, including the beloved relationship between Dun Karl and his canary, and the significance of the Maltese national anthem composed by Dun Karm. As we move through our villages, we can find many reminders of these influential personalities and their legacies, such as monuments and renowned streets named after them.
