In today’s lesson, we discussed the important topics of welfare and social inclusion, emphasizing that these issues extend beyond just Malta to other countries within and outside the European Union. We explored the role of social security and various services, such as pensions and family benefits, while highlighting the state’s interventions to address social problems like poverty and exclusion. The focus was on the sustainability of pensions and encouraging pensioners to remain active in the workforce, aligning with democratic principles and social justice. Overall, this lesson aimed to provide insights into how societies can support those facing challenges with appropriate policies and actions.
