Hello children, I am Miss Gover, and today in our art lesson, we will revisit a traditional Maltese topic focusing on a specific boat called the luzzu. We will discuss its colors, which include the bright yellow and blue, and the historical significance of the luzzu, with origins traced back to the Phoenicians who believed the eyes on the boat warded off danger. We will also explore paintings of the luzzu by various artists, including works by Savio Mizzi and Winston Gattard, and then begin our own drawing of a luzzu using crayons and pencils, emphasizing design and symmetry.
