In this lesson, we discussed the novella “Qra xi ฤงaฤกa ฤกdida” by Clare Azzopardi and its thematic connections to Trevor Zahra’s poetry, particularly focusing on the relationship between parents and children. Students learned that both texts explore similar themes despite being written two years apart, highlighting the complexities and strains within familial relationships. We analyzed how these themes are presented through characters like Stella and Lina, examining their loyalty and respect toward their parents. The aim is to prepare students for their upcoming exams by familiarizing them with common themes and encouraging them to apply their knowledge effectively.
