In today’s lesson, we focused on the responsibilities of health and social care workers, particularly the importance of effective communication. Professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and therapists, must communicate well with patients, recognizing that sometimes patients may not understand Maltese or English. Effective communication encompasses both verbal and non-verbal aspects, including body language and facial expressions, which can help establish a good relationship with patients. Building empathy and staying attentive to patients’ needs while providing encouragement can significantly enhance their morale and promote better outcomes in care.
