In today’s lesson, we continued our work with Adobe Illustrator, specifically focusing on construction lines, which serve as the framework for our drafting projects. We reviewed the formulas necessary for calculating measurements related to width (waste) and height (hips) to create our patterns, discussing how to divide and adjust these measurements accurately using specific calculations. We then proceeded to build our layers in the program, emphasizing the importance of aligning elements correctly, particularly the hip position line relative to the waste line. This session reinforced skills in drafting and ensured that students understand how to apply these formulas and techniques effectively in their design work.
