What Should You Expect From This Lesson?

Students speak about their own experience of a difficult time before they read a text about the diary of Anne Frank. This leads them to writing a diary entry of their own and there's also something extra at the end.

How To Carry Out This Lesson At Home:

1. Read the instructions to the speaking task before carrying it out.
2. Read the question in Activity 1 of the worksheet..
3. Read the text about Anne Frank and decide which title is most suitable.
4. Read the questions in Activity 2 and read the text again.
5. Answer the questions in Activity 2 and Activity 3.
6. Read about format and the points to remember when writing a diary entry.
7. Read the extracts from Anne Frank’s diary and look for the points you read about in number 6 above.
8. Write your own diary entry.
9. Read your diary entry and check that you’ve included the points to remember.
10. Read the instructions for the additional writing and write the paragraph to be posted on the school website.
11. Do the additional writing task.
