What Should You Expect From This Lesson?
The objective of this lesson is for the children to list a number of things that parents do to show love and care for their children.
How To Carry Out This Lesson At Home:
Step 1: Ask the children to tell or draw different things or ways their parents/guardians show that they love them and care for them.
Step 2: Read/ Watch the book – Love You Forever by Robert Munsch
Love You Forever presents the unconditional love that parents are expected to have for their children despite the behaviour of those children as they grow up.

Step 3: After watching the book, answer the following questions. Present a summary of your work via a recorded voice message, or recorded video.
Questions:
1. Why does the mother love the boy and what does the mother get in return?
2. Why do you think that a mother’s love is so giving when it comes to their child?
3. Do you think the boy is being selfish by not telling his mother he loves her?
4. Can you be angry with someone and still love them?
5. Do you think the boy loved the mother, but just was too embarrassed to say?
6. Why do you think did the boy not show his love for his mother until he was older?
7. Do you need to have a reason to love someone?
Step 4: The students will fill in Then & Now handout where they tell or draw a) how their parents/guardians did things that are still the same and b) tell or draw about things that have changed from when they were a baby vs. now.
