Open the ‘Introduction Photos’ and look at the two stitches in the pictures: What is the difference between them? Which one looks stronger? What do you think is the use of each?

Go through slides 1-16 of the PowerPoint presentation to learn about different types of stitches.
Step 2:
Watch the videos below (Credits: Youtube) to learn how to sew some of the different types of stitches and try them out on small samples of fabric (if possible). Label your samples.

b) Diagonal Tacking
c) Tailor’s Tacking
Permanent Stitches:

e) Zig-zag Machine Stitch

Decorative Stitches:
g) Chain Stitch
