Understanding how unhealthy food contributes to an an unhealthy lifestyle and becoming more aware of unhealthy food consumed on a regular basis
How To Carry Out This Lesson At Home:
A healthy lifestyle is a way of living that lowers the risk of diseases and illnesses. We maintain a healthy lifestyle by doing what is right for our body and by making sure we are physically, emotionally and mentally healthy. What we eat plays an important part in our health.
Step 2 – Our choice of food plays an important part in our lifestyle and the wrong choice of food surely contributes to an unhealthy lifestyle.. Student is to reflect on foods he consumes on a regular basis and to think about foods consumed which are high in fats and sugars such as sweets, lemonades, cakes, fried fodd, foods with pastries etc and go through the activity Junk Food Questions Survey
Step 3 – Student is to go through the poster Harmful Effects of Junk Food resource to learn more about what effects unhealthy food might have on our bodies
Step 4 – As a follow up student is to fill in Healthy Eating Habits Checklist everyday and keep track of his/her eating habits for one week in order to be aware of the food one consumes and the healthy habits one might have adopted according to his lifestyle.
Step 5 – Student to fill the Weekly Meal Planner to monitor what he/she is eating, keeping in mind any healthy eating habits adopted from Step 4
