Step 1
Watch this video to familiarize yourself with different stores that can be found in a shopping centre in Germany.

Step 2
Open the Power Point Presentation (refer to Resources): Die Geschäfte Teil 1 / The Shops Part 1 and have a look at some of the store names in German. Try to remember the names of the stores. The process takes time, commitment and patience. Don’t expect to learn everything all at once. But keep at it, and you’ll manage to learn them gradually.  (Reading)

Step 3
Practice the names of the different stores by opening the Power Point Presentation (refer to Resources): Die Geschäfte Teil 2 / The Shops Part 2 . Now it is time to check if you can remember most of the stores in German by playing a guessing game. (Reading and Speaking)

Step 4
Watch this video to practise further the names of the different stores in German and what one can buy from each store. (Listening)

Step 5
Now you are ready to work out the 3 tasks provided (refer to Resources): Die Geschäfte / The Shops. All 3 tasks are matching exercises. In Task 1 and Task 2 you have to write the names of the shops above the correct picture and in Task 3 you have to match the shops to the products by completing a grid at the bottom of the page. You may refer to the document entitled Answer Sheet to check your work. (Reading and Writing)
