What Should You Expect From This Lesson?

Dance using two opposite ways to move. One is strong, fast, and direct punch-type movement, and the other is a light, slow, and indirect float-type movement. Punch and float are the two of the eight effort actions listed below. Each of the effort actions uses space, time and force in different way.

How To Carry Out This Lesson At Home:

For this lesson you will need some space, a percussion instrument, and some music. It is important that you stretch before this activity. For the activities, you need to create a rhythm (or have someone do it for you) and try to create movements that match that particular rhythm – slow, fast, light or strong.
