What Should You Expect From This Lesson?

'Bunnies' is a theme that provides small children various experiences, also related to this special time of Easter. It is important to read the recommendations and follow the mind map and the project plan found in the resources' section.

How To Carry Out This Lesson At Home:

Learning Opportunity 1: We explore. We investigate. We discover.

  • Talk about the different foods that bunnies like to eat such as hay, different vegetables and fruit and few pellets. Some vegetables that bunnies can eat are bell peppers, brussel sprouts, cucumber, carrots and lettuce. Some fruit that bunnies like to eat are apples, bananas, grapes, melon and oranges. Explain that we cannot eat hay and pellets like bunnies but we can eat fruit and vegetables. Children can choose 2 types of fruit or vegetables that they like to taste.
  • Facts about bunnies

  • Look at different pictures of bunnies, found in the Resources Section, and discuss the difference between them. You can also see the video below for further discussion with your child.   Video for reference- Different types of rabbits

  • Scavenger/Egg Hunt- Hide different items (if you still have small Easter eggs or toys related to Easter) around the house, garden or roof and with the help of some hints and clues found in the Resources Section, the children are encouraged to look around and collect them

Learning Opportunity 2: We share our thinking.

Sit in a quiet area and discuss with your child:
• How do we take care of bunnies?

• How do bunnies take care of themselves?
• How do bunnies travel from one place to the other?

Learning Opportunity 3: We reflect.

Looking at different pictures of bunnies and together with your child choose a craft from the project plan that you can create
Extend these learning opportunities by holding a bunny soft toy or picture and discuss how we can make bunnies feel more loved. Talk with your child about the love Jesus brought through His Resurrection and Divine Mercy and how we can also love and take care of each other.
