What Should You Expect From This Lesson?
During this activity the students will learn more about block graphs by creating their own block graph about Colours and by talking about it.
How To Carry Out This Lesson At Home:
1. Students colour each square on Activity Sheet 2.4a (Page 2) using their favourite crayons/coloured pencils. Each square is to be coloured in only one colour, but students can use different colours for the different squares. For example: There can be 4 red squares, 7 blue squares …
2. Once all the squares are coloured, students are to count the total number of squares of each colour. If they count 4 red squares, they are to colour 4 red boxes on their block graph on Activity Sheet 2.4a (Page 1).
3. When the block graph is completed, students can talk about the coloured squares. They can describe (Example: There are 4 red squares) and they can compare (Example: The are 3 more blue squares than red squares).
Extra Task
Activity can be repeated this time using balls. Download Activity Sheet 2.4b.
