What Should You Expect From This Lesson?
At the end of this lesson you will be able to: [1] Derive and use the formula for the area of a parallelogram. [2] Derive the formula ½ × base × perpendicular height for the area of a triangle. [3] Use the formula for the area of a triangle in composite shapes.
How To Carry Out This Lesson At Home:
Lesson [1] Derive and use the formula for the area of a parallelogram.
A. Use squared paper to demonstrate that the area of a parallelogram is equal to that of a rectangle on an equal base and having the same perpendicular height.
